thickening...

I am officially 3 months pregnant. My waist is "thickening" as the pregnancy books and websites say. However, I sadly do not possess the "bump" which is what I really want. Tomorrow I think I am going to buy what is called a "bellyband". Basically it is stretchy material that fits around the top of your pants to hold them up if you can't button them all the way with comfort. They hold your pants up so you don't have to buy maternity clothes that you will just grow out of in a month or two. Cuz those buggers are expensive!

My back is killing me and I am not sure if it is something I did or if it is the baby shifting and my womb expanding. Anyway, it kind os sucks. But all part of the experience yeah? I can't wait until December...for one thing it will be Christmas and I can decorate (yea!) AND we will go in for our second ultrasound, which means we get to find out the gender! Woohoo!

Okay. Enough from me. Time to lay down with the heating pad again.

I am so proud of my husband!

So just a quick note to say how proud I am of Evan. He got his step 10 at work. Which means he topped out in the welding field pay scale-wise. At work they call step 10 "walking on water" because you have to be able to basically do anything to get it. Plus, Evan was suppose to have waited a year to get this step, but his supervisor was like "You deserve it early so I am going to try and get it for you at 6 months." AND THEN a few weeks ago, which was at the 3 month mark his supervisor said "Oh by the way I put in your step 10 recommendation." SO AWESOME!!!

This is especially good with the baby on the way and the possibility of me having to quit my job in April, or at least stop for 4 months. But also I am just so happy and just...PROUD (sorry no thesaurus) that he is such a hard worker and so good at his job. Okay that is all...

Pregnant!

So I have been very bad at keeping this journal of my progress. I have been experiencing really terrible morning sickness, or as I call it “all-the-time sickness”. That's right, I'm pregnant! We found out September 10th.

I took a home test and it almost immediately turned positive. I ran squealing out of the bathroom and Evan just sat there smiling and we kissed and hugged and I cried. I have not had any morning sickness but I have been having a few hot flashes. I can’t wait until I start getting a little bump. I am very excited for Christmas it will be fun to be all round and cute. It was fun to call people and hear their reactions. Debbie (my mother-in-law) screamed the loudest and she was jumping up and down. Everyone is so very happy for us.

I am actually starting to feel better most of the time. If I keep a full stomach, which is hard to do sometimes, when I am throwing up a lot, then I am generally okay. But I am nearing the end of the first trimester and so I am hoping it will completely end. On Tuesday we had our first ultrasound. It was really neat even though at this stage you can only sort of tell there is a body and a head. It was very active, little elbow and knee-less arms and legs waving around. We got pictures and also a little video of it moving. I will post the pictures as soon as I get around to setting up the scanner. In December we will be able to tell what gender our little bean is. We are pretty sure it is a girl but you never know…I am looking forward to when the baby is big enough for me to actually be showing. Of course at the moment it is about the size of a kumquat.

Justin is taking pictures of me every week so he can show the progress. I am also still very tired pretty much all the time. I have been working on cleaning the house a room or two at a time. Tomorrow I will do our bedroom, the back bedroom and finish the laundry room. Anyway, speaking of being tired…I am going to lay down for a bit.
